Dreaming in a Dead Language

David Fischer Great, versatile black metal with detail aplenty. Some songs are surprisingly upbeat at times - e.g. Carve My Name, before dropping into claustrophobic dissonance and ultimately exquisite atmosphere - while other songs come along as frenetic and apoplectic throughout. Then there's the dismal piano: presaging impending doom, gracefully placed in the middle of the album and interlaced with its successor. Let alone the closing track. This album will pull you deep into the currents of its misery. Favorite track: Carve My Name.

bcb723 How did I miss this? "Dreaming in a Dead Language" wraps its blackness around you by the middle of the first song and seriously holds you while the jagged riffs swirl all around. The shit is so memorable that the repeated dissonance is in itself strangely melodic. I get the classic BM and USDM influences but you just cannot deny what is coming through the speakers. Mo'ynoq completely destroy here. Favorite track: The Collector.

ekkkva The structure of this piece of music is phenomenal. The way it starts aggressively, very straight forward, but then breaks up in the middle with a small piano interlude that then leads to a much more melancholic and emotionally charged side of the project.. that is just something that a lot of album fails to deliver. I love the way the group is going. And of fucking course, the artwork by business for satan is excellent. Favorite track: Carve My Name.
